Former NASCAR crew chief barely escapes explosion

Former Sprint Cup crew chief, Cliff Champion, the person in the middle of the picture, escaped injury along with three others after the yacht the Champion operates exploded while being refueled on Lake Norman in North Carolina. A 19-year old deckhand who was refueling the boat is still missing.

Champion who has worked with drivers Benny Parsons, Alan Kulwicki and Ricky Rudd in the past, started his charter yacht company about a decade ago and helps NASCAR teams charters rides for sponsors, competitors and for the teams themselves.
